I’m starting with a Venus flytrap but I’ll be adding sundews soon. Carnivorous plants are sort of like most orchids in that their soil needs to be moister than most plants, so you don’t necessarily need a drainage hole in the container for them. I’ve tried doing something similar to this last year, but unfortunately it died off because the bog dried out while I was away during the first part of quarantine. I’ll try to post updates on how it’s going, but until the sundew is here there’s probably not going to be much to say. While no one had been hurt, the smoke damage had made most of the house uninhabitable and most of the items inside useless. At the time the only bright spot had been the rack of antlers I got out of the ordeal that I never would have been able to afford otherwise. However as the years went on we started spending more time with my aunt (who had been living in the house at the time) and her daughter, which partially inspired me create this piece.
